1. What you are consenting to
By checking the SMS opt-in box on your invitation page and clicking "Activate portal", you expressly consent to receive account-related and case-related text messages from Los Angeles Lawyer Corp at the mobile number you provided. These messages may be sent using an automatic telephone dialing system or similar technology. Consent to receive marketing text messages is not a condition of retaining our legal services or of using the client portal.
2. Types of messages
- Portal invitations, verification codes, and password-reset links.
- Case status updates and requests from your attorney or paralegal.
- Appointment reminders and calendar changes.
- Document requests, e-signature notifications, and payment reminders.
We do not send third-party marketing content over SMS.
3. Message frequency
Message frequency varies based on the activity in your matter. Typical volume is 2–10 messages per month. Time-sensitive messages (such as court date changes) may be sent outside this range.
4. Message and data rates
Message and data rates may apply. Charges depend on your mobile carrier and plan. We do not charge you to receive our messages; your carrier may.
5. Opt-out (STOP)
You can cancel at any time by replying STOP to any message from us. After you send STOP, we will send you a single confirmation message and will not send you SMS messages again unless you re-enroll. Opting out of SMS does not opt you out of email or portal notifications, and it does not end the attorney–client relationship.
6. Help (HELP)
Reply HELP to any message for assistance, or contact us at privacy@lalawyercorp.com or +1 (855) 677-7192.
7. Carriers
Supported carriers include AT&T, Verizon Wireless, T-Mobile, Sprint, U.S. Cellular, Boost, MetroPCS, Cricket, Google Fi, and most other U.S. carriers. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
8. Eligibility
You must be the account holder or an authorized user of the mobile number you enroll, be at least 18 years old (or represented by a parent or guardian), and reside in the United States.
9. Confidentiality warning
SMS is not an encrypted or secure channel. We limit SMS content to non-sensitive notifications and short instructions; we do not send confidential case documents or privileged legal advice by SMS. Send sensitive materials through the secure client portal instead.
10. Compliance
We operate this program consistent with the federal Telephone Consumer Protection Act (47 U.S.C. § 227) and the FCC's implementing rules (47 C.F.R. § 64.1200), the CTIA Messaging Principles and Best Practices, and applicable California law including Business & Professions Code § 17538.41. Consent records — including your name, the mobile number, the date and time of consent, and the IP address and browser used — are stored as part of your client file.
11. Changes and contact
We may update these SMS Terms. Material changes will be posted here with a new "Last updated" date. For questions, contact:
